Save a dashboard as a runbook

Dashboards display predefined, user-defined custom dashboards, and runbooks.

About this task

Selected default dashboards can be adjusted and saved as a runbook for your own dashboard. The dashboard must have the same storage system, category, and object type as the original.
NOTE: The following categories cannot be saved as runbooks:
  • Thin Volumes
  • Data Volumes
  • Disks
  • External Disks
  • vVols

If a runbook, either default or custom, has charts with mixed categories, you cannot save that dashboard as a runbook. For example, the default Hosts dashboard has the Initiators chart, and so the Save as a Runbook menu item is not available.

To save a dashboard as a runbook:

Steps

  1. Select a storage system.
  2. Select Performance > Dashboards.
  3. Select one of the default dashboards.
  4. Click Save icon > Save as Runbook.
The Save as Runbook dialog box is displayed.
  5. Enter a Runbook Name.
  6. Click Save.
The template is saved to the Runbooks folder.
